Acts 14 38 thru 41
Listen! In this man Jesus there is forgiveness for your sins!
Everyone who trusts in him is freed from all guilt and declared
righteous something the Jewish law could never do. Oh, be
careful! Don't let the prophets words apply to you. For they
said Look and perish you despisers (of the truth) for I am doing
something in your day something that you won't believe when you hear
it announced.
Jesus came to this earth as a man suffered and died so that our sins
would be forgiven. So that we can be free from guilt. This
does not mean that we can go around doing whatever we want sinning
whenever we want because we will be forgiven. No it means that
we have accepted Jesus into our heart, realized that he perished to
set us free. When our flesh sins we bind ourselves back into
the chains of slavery. In order to break those chains we must
place them at the feet of our Lord and ask forgiveness. Then
when we leave the sins behind we must understand that we again have
been made righteous in the eyes of our father guilt free. To
go and try to sin no more.
Notice that I used the word try. We are human and we will sin.
No one can truly follow all the commandments. We are
constantly tricked and fooled by Satan into his game. He
hardens our hearts and whispers in our ears. The thing to
remember is that we must bring our burdens and sins to the Lord as
soon as possible. Don't let Satan plant the seeds of thorns
and thistles and let them grow. We all know that weeds grow
faster than anything else in our gardens. The only way to get
rid of them is to tear them out by the root. When we confess
our sins we have to make sure we get the root. The true
problem and place the sin root and all at our Saviors feet.
Leaving our heart with just the seeds that God has placed there.
If this means that we have to go into the Garden 10 times a
day to get all the weeds. Better to do that than once a day
and find the garden overflowed with weeds.
